Havenly Interior Design Site Review The Pros, Cons, and Cost of Havenly

heavenly design

The criticisms that I have about the delivery times feel somewhat unfair in the midst of a global supply shortage. If I’m going to need to source products myself based on the delivery estimates, it seriously undermines the service that a company like Havenly or Modsy provides. An exception is for discounts that apply to a minimum order volume. In those cases, it’s worth searching to see if Havenly carries other items you may have your eye on, so you’ll get a discount on the whole lot.

The Best Kitchen Utensil Sets for Cooking

The timeframe can vary depending on the complexity of the project, your responsiveness to design suggestions, and your chosen designer. However, most projects are completed within 2 to 4 weeks, providing a quick turnaround for your design needs. The time estimate can vary, depending on the chosen designer. Shipping times may vary since furniture comes from a great list of external vendors.

I had a fantastic experience working…

I also had to measure the room with a tape measure and provide a loose (very poorly sketched) layout of the floor plan I wanted. There will be pros and cons to every service, but if you're looking for a budget-friendly way to design a space in your home, Havenly is worth a try. We recommend contacting their customer support center so you can address any concerns before going forward.

Great Experience Redesigning my space

Havenly’s design process starts with 3 “Idea Boards,” which have different color palettes and vibes. Our designer offered to FaceTime to discuss them, though we ultimately stuck to messaging within Havenly. At first it felt like slow momentum, but the turnaround times once she started went quickly. She messaged me via the Havenly site to ask for a link to a Pinterest board, if I had one, and any other inspiration images. It’s a pity it’s not easier to export Instagram bookmarks, as that’s now the platform where most of my browsing happens.

I gave the designer a picture of what I thought was wonderful for a living room. I also told him must haves like sturdy dining room chairs, a wine rack, etc. His design was so far off from the picture that I thought he mixed me up with some condo dweller in a Manhattan condo on the Upper East Side. I told him no, told him what was wrong, and gave him another opportunity.

The Shopping Phase

The in-person package is available to customers in select markets in the U.S., and customers work with a designer who comes to their home. Customers in one of 12 U.S. metropolitan areas can take advantage of Havenly’s in-person design services for $499. With this service, customers are matched with designers in their area, and a designer visits the customer’s home to take measurements. I used the free features of the app for about a year to get inspiration and do small updates to my home. However, I couldn't find a bedroom and living room design on Pinterest or elsewhere that really felt like my own. It was a very easy process and there were only a few minimal bugs, which customer support helped me through quickly.

People who write reviews have ownership to edit or delete them at any time, and they’ll be displayed as long as an account is active. Havenly operates primarily online, but in-person meetings are possible. Their top-tier In-Person Design package is available to those living in one of its selected US cities. I took a few photos from Pinterest and snapped a few shots of a CB2 catalog, and that seemed to be enough. I didn’t mind doing this, but I do think this could be frustrating for someone who doesn’t know what type of style they want for their room. Based out of Mashable's New York HQ, she previously ran the company's weekend coverage, oversaw the in-house syndication program, and was an assistant editor for general news.

This is the first time you’re presented with a floor plan, and there is only one (in contrast, Modsy gives you two, and at the beginning of the process). If you're like me and can't afford to buy everything on your shopping list at once, it's still worth it to have the inspiration and ideas that you can keep forever. I am definitely planning to use it for all of my rooms at some point, even ones that don't need a complete makeover. I added a few more notes and was told I would have my final design, with a layout of the new furniture in my space, within a week.

Alternatives to Havenly Design

Havenly’s success can be attributed to its significant pool of interior designers. The team’s combined wealth of experience, creativity, and passion brings a well-rounded experience. Each designer has a unique style, ensuring a diverse range of aesthetics. If you purchase the Full package, you’ll also receive layout visualizations and a custom floor plan.

This is not the easiest time to be buying furniture (or really much of anything). That makes it doubly difficult to get the most out of Havenly. A product that is meant to make my life easier frequently just gave me headaches. Everything is in a text-message format, so there’s lots of scrolling to see previous messages.

Since the shop sources pieces from third-party retailers, guarantees may vary by retailer. First and most egregiously, Havenly doesn’t have updated delivery information for many of the products that it recommends. This is likely an API issue on the part of the furniture manufacturers themselves, but it affects popular brands like West Elm, Article, and Crate & Barrel. I was told I’d see the estimated delivery date on my receipt.

Overall, product design consulting is a valuable service that can help businesses and organizations to develop innovative and effective products that meet the needs of their customers and stakeholders. By leveraging the expertise of experienced consultants, businesses can gain a competitive edge and drive growth and success in their markets. Product design consulting is a specialized field that focuses on the design and development of products for businesses and organizations. This type of consulting involves working closely with clients to understand their needs and goals, and then using design and engineering principles to create products that meet those needs. As a human-centered design and development firm we rely on research and interactive testing through development, concept creation, and prototyping. We aim to create products that are not only emotionally resonant and functional but also easy to manufacture and cost-effective to produce.

Ready to start your next project?

Product development, on the other hand, is the process of bringing a product design to life. This involves engineering and manufacturing the product, as well as testing and refining it. The focus of product development is on the technical aspects of the product, such as the materials, components, and processes used to create it. In engineering product design, the detailed design phase is the careful conductor that adjusts certain parts, measurements, tolerances, and assembly procedures to create a perfect orchestration. Accuracy is vital, and CAD models and simulations are master tools for fine-tuning and solidifying designs before manufacturing.

The Product Designer Career Path: How To Grow In Product Design

engineering product design

In this short course, you will learn how engineering design processes and product design processes are carried out. After the course, you will be familiar with the steps in both design processes. You will also be familiar with the main goal of each design process, as well as their similarities and differences.

What’s the difference between a product design engineer and a product designer?

Starting off the business as a small rapid prototyping firm, VistaTek has now grown into a sizable custom manufacturing company with in-house production capabilities. Their services include injection molding, mold-making, and secondary operations. Spanner Product Development has worked on various innovative consumer products such as Brava Oven, Pi Wireless Charging, Arable Mark, Otto Smart Lock, and Target Fetch. As the name implies, product definition defines the product in detail so the actual design can begin, and any subsequent steps rely on these requirement definitions. Depending on the nature of the product design, this is sometimes knowns as a “Problem definition” or “Product Planning” or “Task clarification“. The final step, moments of truth, involves conducting user research to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of the solution. This can involve conducting user testing, gathering feedback, and iterating on the solution based on the feedback. The goal of this step is to create a final solution that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, and meets the needs and preferences of the target audience.

Solid Design Solutions

It has worked with Aberdeen Proving Grounds to design an environmental test chamber and with consumer product companies such as Invisi-ball and Fog Thief. Working on the principle of the Lean Product Development Cycle (Design – Build – Test), Facture also offers turnkey development, from product feasibility evaluation to third-party regulatory certification. The firm was founded in 2017 and has partnered with Powerit, Rhino Camera Gear, and Obliq. Blue Clover Devices has grown from a design firm into an ODM (original design manufacturer) specializing in electronic products with over 100 staff. It has partnered with well-known clients such as Volkswagen, Audi, Herman Miller, Peachtree Audio, and Audyssey Labs. Once a concept has been developed, it is then prototyped and tested with the user to gather feedback and refine the design.

Finally, they will be guided through further discussions and readings on each step of the engineering design process. The groundwork established during conceptualisation and creativity is what this phase grows on. It is the furnace through which designs are put through arduous engineering analysis, optimisation, and validation. The detailed design ensures a smooth transfer from the blueprint to the production line by navigating the complexities of manufacturing preparation. The evolution of engineering product design mirrors technological advancements and changing consumer needs.

Development

Some product design engineers choose to become design engineers or design engineering managers, while others become project engineers or applications engineering managers. Finally, they can also become engineering managers, engineering operations managers, or test engineering managers. A product design engineer utilizes engineering and design knowledge to create products or improve existing ones. They work collaboratively with marketing, manufacturing, and research and development teams to ensure that products meet customer needs, safety standards, and cost requirements. A product design engineer may use computer-aided design software to create 3D models, simulations, and prototypes.

There have been over 2,000 projects in bb7’s portfolio in the last 15 years, 80% of which went to market. The firm has worked with well-known clients, including Motorola, Bosch, John Deere, Baxter, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. An end-to-end digital products development firm, Anubavam has overall mobile app design and large-scale cloud computing expertise.

Products such as smart speakers with multiple microphones, Phones with numerous cameras and consumer electronics with built-in NFC are revolutionising the technology industry. Due to the growth in consumer electronics and electric cars, the demand for primary and secondary battery technologies has soared, driving knowledge growth. Engineering Product design is a systematic and creative process of conceiving, developing, and optimising products that cater to specific market demands.

Successful product engineering delivers products that not only meet functional and technical requirements but provide elevated user experiences and complement an organization’s overarching business strategy. It is often useful for an organization to systematize the product engineering process, outlining a detailed roadmap and designating product managers to ensure a timely and cost-effective process. This will help an organization maximize a product’s value for its entire lifecycle. Core competencies of Solid Design Solutions include project management, manufacturing engineering, and software development. The firm works of consumer products, medical devices, manufacturing devices, and connected hardware.

Making choices about how to use or create new technologies is a vital risk of the product development process. Once an idea is finalized, engineers begin the design phase in which they create detailed wireframes, specifications, drawings, and models of the product. This phase might include the use of CAD (computer-aided design) tools to develop two-dimensional and three-dimensional models. Engineers design and build prototypes, which are built and tested to validate the product before it moves to full-scale production. Multiple prototypes might be built to assist in difficult problem-solving processes. In software engineering, engineers might define the overall system architecture of the product during this phase.

No job is 100% perfect, but if every discussion with product design engineers gets you more excited about being one, it’s a good sign that your interests align with the role. This first step is crucial to understanding the requirements of the final product. This process often begins with sketching and visualisation, where concepts are brought to life on paper, evolving into detailed 3D models using sophisticated software. Designers weave their expertise in material and manufacturing knowledge into these models, ensuring that the chosen materials not only enhance aesthetics but also align with production feasibility. Although the challenges are high, there has never been a better time to be an engineering product designer.

The company serves clients in medical consumer goods, defense, and industrial markets. A product design and development firm, Sakonet DesignWorks provides various services, from product conceptualization to the pilot manufacturing process. It serves multiple market categories, including medical, consumer goods, and lighting. A product design engineer can take various career paths that involve the design and development of products. They can work as project engineers, senior manufacturing engineers, or manufacturing engineering managers, among others. They can also transition to roles like senior mechanical engineer, mechanical engineering manager, process engineer, or process engineering manager.

When you talk with product design engineers, ask them what tools they use on a regular basis to get a better idea of what to expect. It’s worth noting that once you have experience as a product design engineer, you can use many of your skills working for a tech company on digital products. Now that you know what product design engineers use to create products, let’s move on to daily tasks for product design engineers.

And in retrospect it’s fun to take note of how the Penguin is vastly different from Mickey Goldmill, who’s vastly different from V.C.R. Cameron, who’s vastly different from Henry Bemis. He was one of the truly gifted actors of our time, and seeing an 80-something Burgess Meredith waddle across the stage at a screening of the 1966 Batman movie in 1989 is something I’ll never forget. While it would be considerably easier for me to list my LEAST favorite villains, listing my MOST favorite villains proved to be a bigger challenge. So, for the first time ever in 13th Dimension history (I think), we have A 13-WAY TIE!! They’re ALL my absolute, top favorites for their own special reasons. When Dan asked me to list my 13 favorite Batman 1966 villains, it was a bit like being asked to rank your favorite children.

Today, it’s a museum, full of archival photos, menus, props, and even a recreation of DeMille’s office, complete with typewriter, film canisters, movie posters, and booze. In 1914, before Hollywood had a large footprint of permanent studios, filmmakers shot their pictures by repurposing other buildings as sets. It soon became the center of operations for the Jesse L. In the early ‘80s, Oscar-winning director Francis Ford Coppola came to Tulsa to catapult S. E. Hinton’s memorable characters from her best-selling novel, "The Outsiders," onto the big screen. The filmmaker and crew transformed an ordinary Tulsa neighborhood into a fully-functioning movie set. We are excited to offer student tours in support of the educational mission of The Outsiders House Museum.

As operations boomed, the business outgrew its wood-frame confines. As they moved around Hollywood, and expanded their real estate holdings, they brought the barn with them. By 1926, it had been hauled to a back lot on Melrose Avenue, where Paramount would be building new studios. In the late ’70s, it was firmly out of commission, and was loaded up onto a truck and hauled to a parking lot. Cecil B. DeMille knew that this barn would make a great addition to the film, the first feature-length movie to be produced in Hollywood. At that point, the barn sat a number of blocks away, near Sunset and Vine.

I had become friends with a few of the actors who portrayed those villains, so it would make me feel a bit skeevy to have to place their portrayals in any sort of preferential order. The Outsiders House Museum is a museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, about Francis Ford Coppola's coming-of-age movie,The Outsiders (1983), and the 1967 novel by the same name it adapts by S. It aims to preserve the house which served as the primary film set for the Curtis Brothers (the story's lead characters). The museum was created by hip-hop artist Danny Boy O'Connor, who is a long-time fan of The Outsiders.

Thomas Howell) and Johnny Cade (played by Ralph Macchio), become involved in a murder, and the repercussions affect everyone involved. “They came through and were fans as well,” O’Connor said, noting that frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has ties to Oklahoma – his mother is from the Sooner State. I saw a house from one of my favorite movies,” said O’Connor, 52. The house, which is estimated to have been built in 1920, served as a private residence prior to becoming a museum, except when Coppola used it for the screen adaptation of Hinton's novel, circa 1982. The film has maintained a following, and is also notable due to its young cast, who all had subsequently major acting careers. I did enjoy the fact that Shame was one of the only villains in the Batman series allowed to brandish a real firearm, though he wasn’t very good at its utilization. Then, film crews, a developing lab, and a gym where actors could bulk up and trim down. The Outsiders House Museum was created by Danny Boy O’Connor, formerly of the hip-hop group House of Pain. It’s been a labor of love for O’Connor, who bought the house several years ago and renovated it. To stay true to the novel, the film was shot on location in Tulsa. The house where the Curtis brothers quarrel and bond with each other and the rest of the greasers is now the home of this museum. If the phrase “stay gold” means something to you, you might recognize this house.

After extensive renovations to restore and maintain its authenticity from the film, it opened to the public on August 9, 2019. In the early ‘80s, Oscar winning director Francis Ford Coppola came to Tulsa, OK to catapult S.E. Hinton’s memorable characters off the pages of The Outsiders book onto the big screen. Rather than use a Hollywood back lot, the film maker and crew transformed an ordinary Tulsa neighborhood into a fully functioning movie set.

DiCaprio, who was in northeast Oklahoma for filming of “Killers of the Flower Moon,” showed up to the Outsiders House during business hours and took a tour in July. He has since been photographed at other museums in the area, including the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. Fans can look off of the porch and gaze into the sunset like Ponyboy would have, and go into the room where he reads the bittersweet letter from his best friend. The museum’s extensive memorabilia collection contains artifacts like wardrobe from the film, posters and books from around the world, and a green towel autographed from Sodapop himself (Rob Lowe). The house was privately owned for many years, and had started to fall into disrepair. In 2016, the musician Danny Boy O’Connor purchased the building.

E. Hinton joined media, city and state government officials, volunteers and VIP fans to cut the ribbon that officially opened The Outsiders House Museum. Green Day, in Tulsa for a surprise show at Cain’s Ballroom, also called and asked to stop by. “They came through and were fans as well,” O’Connor said, noting that frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has ties to Oklahoma -- his mother is from the Sooner State. Hogwarts Legacy All Houses Sorted from Worst to Best

best house hogwarts legacy

This house guide is for all versions of Hogwarts Legacy, including the original PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S versions of Hogwarts Legacy, as well as the Switch version from November, 2023. And that is how to decide which house is best for you in Hogwarts Legacy. Sometimes, it can come down to liking the color green the most or preferring a specific common room. Sometimes it can be about wanting to be with friends or like-minded people. However you come to your decision, you should feel proud of the house you pick to represent as you set out on your grand adventure in Hogwarts Legacy.

Was this guide helpful?

As you would expect from a witch or wizard still going through school in Hogwarts Legacy, your created character still has a lot to learn in the wizarding world. Thankfully you don't have to go to class in order to expand your arsenal of magical abilities thanks to the Talent system. Talents may as well just be called skills since they function just like skills do in any other RPG. While you’re completely free to mingle with students from all houses, there are a few unique interactions that will only happen with students with whom you share a house. Other NPCs will also make passing remarks based on which house you’re in — again a fun little touch — but not in any way that excludes you from interacting with them. That’s all you need to know about the differences between the Hogwarts Legacy houses.

In Hogwarts Legacy, the Sorting Hat will suggest which house fits you better, but you can choose whichever house you want.

Hogwarts Legacy: What Is the Best House in the Game?

Trust us, all that truly matters is how good your outfits look rather than the supposed characteristics each house has. No one will remember that you joined a house known for being cunning, ambitious, and prideful. On the other hand, they will remember how good you looked each day thanks to the Hogwarts Legacy transmog system. You can even change your physical attributes with our how to change appearance in Hogwarts Legacy guide.

Well, for what it’s worth, I will say that Gryffindor and Hufflepuff probably have the most interesting unique quests (their common rooms are also fantastic). The Slytherin quest is also pretty fun, and the Ravenclaw quest is sadly not as memorable. That’s about as minor as such differences get, but the game really does seem to be more interested in ensuring a relatively equal experience for all.

The epitome of companionship is perfectly represented in this house as friendship is deeply valued here. For the most part, your House choice has very little impact on your overall Hogwarts Legacy adventure. With some exceptions that we’ll get to in a bit, it’s best to think of your House choice as an expanded cosmetic.

PORTKEY GAMES, HOGWARTS LEGACY, WIZARDING WORLD AND HARRY POTTER characters, names and related indicia © and ™ Warner Bros. I think that tied Hufflepuf and Slytherin are the 2 best houses in the game, the ones with the best companions and quests. Then you have Ravenclaw which has nothing, in my opinion the worst common room, no companion or anything. It’s not easy being a member of the Gryffindor house, but it’s a decision you make, not one that is decided for you.

There are two choices here, but whether players select “I can’t wait to start classes” or “I can’t wait to explore” ultimately makes no difference. This is because it’s the hat’s second question that determines which house it recommends. Upon their arrival at the titular school of witchcraft and wizardry, one of the very first things that Hogwarts Legacy players will need to do is get sorted into a house. As fans of the franchise will already know, there are four possible options here, those being Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. To our knowledge, there’s no real difference between the Hogwarts Legacy houses other than a few in-game distinctions. Certain Hogwarts Legacy characters might reference the fact that you share the same house as them, but this usually occurs when you’re being introduced for the first time.

If you want to wear clothes of a specific color, such as red, blue, yellow, or green, take that into consideration when choosing a house. These common rooms also hold a special house chest that you need to collect all the Daedalian Keys to unlock. Once you do, you will get a unique house robe representing that specific house. Again taking a cue from the source material, Hogwarts Legacy‘s houses each have their own unique common room.

Many students who join the Hufflepuffs are also known to have an aptitude for Herbology, the study of magical and mundane plants from the series. The extensive knowledge surrounding Herbology reflects the hardworking behavior of students in this house. Taking care of plants and having them grow is a difficult endeavor and not for everyone. Many characters selected to join this house also have a solid moral code, dictating their personality and drive for their academics. Your house will not affect your relationships, gameplay, or overall story. If the limitations above don’t bother you, feel free to choose any house.

One of the most interesting aspects of this magical universe is its house system, which are tight-knit communities for distinct types of students at Hogwarts. Even if you have only a little knowledge of Harry Potter, you have probably heard of the famous House of Gryffindor, which is only one of the four in Hogwarts. You will only be able to enter the dormitory of the House you're sorted at.

Each one is aesthetically distinct from the others, and you are only allowed in yours. Here’s how your time in Hogwarts will vary depending on which house you join. Any new student’s journey at Hogwarts hinges on which of the four houses the Sorting Hat will place them in. Just like the books, Hogwarts Legacy includes Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Unlike the books, though, you aren’t bound to joining the house that the sorting Hat suggests to you when you first arrive.

Students within this house had to know how to apply their knowledge, coming up with unique solutions that others may have missed when they initially viewed an issue. For many Hogwarts Legacy players, the Gryffindor house might be their go-to choice as it was the leading house featured in other pieces of Hogwarts-related lore. Finally, the most major change that comes with your choice of house is regarding a single quest. Without spoiling anything, one quest in Hogwarts Legacy will change depending on which house you are part of.

The Bellissima floor lamp by Ferruccio Laviani, a version of a previously released pendant by the same name, felt like a master class in scale. The stand is slight, but, if it’s hard to tell, the domes of these are about shoulder width, and can slide up and down to work in whichever part of the house you put one. Kallista’s Black Argile stand-alone tub, a cast stone piece in a collection with a matching vessel sink and a shower head, is inspired by wood cuts and tooled clay. In colorful contrast, the Starburst-hued handles of the FP5 collection is decidedly fun. For something really whimsical, you could put a pink set with a matching pedestal, as they did here.

Building up an army means building up a lot of infrastructure — mines, bloomeries, blacksmiths, logging camps, joiners, and more — before anyone even picks up a weapon.

In some respects, particularly with action and low-light images, it finds ways to capture exciting photos. Of course, the person using the camera always matters, but seeing novices have fun trying this phone’s camera indicates that the onboard features pique interest. In the pantheon of glass- and crystal-making, the rope—a long and hollow element crafted from hot twisting and stretching molten lava—is one of the most technical to achieve. Used widely as a connector, or a “branch,” in chandeliers, it is also one of its most unsung, as designers would rather draw attention to the dainty decorations that hang off it.

The ultra-wide has a very wide field of view and is prone to quality degradation along the edges, but otherwise, it produces excellent shots. It maintains solid output in low-light conditions while preserving tone and color in brighter ones. Put good hardware and software together, and you should have an excellent phone camera. That’s a good way to sum up what the 14 Ultra can do, even more so when you explore the myriad of settings and options to find the best combinations for you or your scenario. Hogwarts Legacy Which House Should You Choose?

For instance, the game offers a few “companion” NPCs who you’ll interact with throughout the game. If you choose the same House as one of those companion characters, you will be able to interact with them in your shared common room. However, every character will be able to interact with every companion, and there don’t seem to be any notable special interactions that are limited to companions in the same House as you. When you start Hogwarts Legacy, the sorting hat will sort you into one of four different houses —Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Being in a house is more than just wearing specific colors, it changes elements of your gameplay to offer a unique experience relevant to the house you're in. This IGN wiki guide explains the main difference between the Hogwarts houses and which one you should choose.

The eagle will close its wings before opening the door for its students. The majesty and beauty of the Ravenclaw House common areas are unparalleled in Hogwarts Legacy. You will instantly love the blue and gold colors surrounding the gorgeous tower of this fantastic house. While not as impressive as the next two houses on this list, Hufflepuff’s entrance is still charming on its way. The entrance is a detailed wine barrel that will open as soon as a Hufflepuff student walks nearby. Joining Gryffindor House in Hogwarts Legacy offers the quest of “The Hunt for the Missing Pages,” wherein you can meet some unique characters.

Your answer here will not affect your house selection at all, so feel free to choose either option. You can choose your house in Hogwarts Legacy through a Sorting Hat quiz, just like in the Harry Potter books and movies. The entire appeal of creating your own student in Hogwarts Legacy is getting to live the life of a young witch or wizard in the titular academy. Just like the source material, the game doesn't dwell too much on the more boring aspects of student life, but becoming a powerful spellcaster will require you to learn from those wiser than yourself. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw are the four Hogwarts Legacy houses, but you shouldn’t worry about which house you’re sorted into.

Early on in Hogwarts Legacy after a blockbuster intro, you will be taken to Hogwarts and sorted into a house as a fifth year, a rarity. For Gryffindor, the students are usually strong-willed, brave, courageous, and take on leadership. For Ravenclaw, the students are often intelligent, witty, curious, and academic.

In Hogwarts Legacy, those sorted into Ravenclaw house tend to exemplify the nerdy, but friendly archetype. Gryffindor tends to have the most daring, brave, and chivalrous individuals. Some of the most iconic characters of the Harry Potter franchise belong to this house, including Harry Potter himself. While it is not entirely official, the Sorting Hat likely picks a House for students based on their qualities; however, it is not 100% accurate. Every new student of Hogwarts will have to meet the Sorting Hat at the beginning of the school year during the Sorting Ceremony, which will go student by student, deciding which house is best for each of them.

All Houses in Hogwarts Legacy, Sorted from Worst to Best

However, as mentioned above, this choice is also pretty inconsequential, as players will be able to override the hat’s suggestion if they want to. The Hufflepuff house in Hogwarts Legacy is another choice you can make for your character. Only a handful of characters in other Hogwarts-related lore came from this house and showed up far less regularly. Characters joining the Hufflepuffs are considered dedicated to their work and loyal to others. They view themselves as hard workers, capable of putting their noses to the grindstone to see the results and achieve victory over others. Their symbol for the Hufflepuffs is a Badger, and house colors were wheat gold and jet black.

If you’d rather not go through all of that, you can simply wait until you reach Hogwarts early into the Hogwarts Legacy campaign. You can’t miss it, so there’s nothing to worry about so far as that goes. Hogwarts Legacy is based on the Wizarding World universe created by J.K. You can read more about Rowling’s history of transphobic remarks as well as find resources to support LGBTQ organizations here.

Fortunately, we’re here to assure you that your house doesn’t determine your fate. That being said, there are some minor NPCs that are only available in your common room. Aside from a couple of unique dialog options, though, those NPCs do not have a significant impact on the game. There are also a few minor dialog differences in certain cutscenes based on your House choice, but most of those differences amount to which House name is said during certain cutscenes. For instance, if you’re in Ravenclaw and talking to a Ravenclaw NPC, they may acknowledge you share a house. If you’re in Gryffindor, that same NPC will likely have much more generic dialog.

best house hogwarts legacy

Of course, that choice has already caused some early players to panic over which is the “best” House in the game. Note that the House you choose to be sorted into during the Sorting Hat Ceremony is permanent. You will need to restart the main story or create a different character if you want to play through the game in a different House.

The game has been embroiled in controversy due to transphobic remarks from Harry Potter author JK Rowling. Although she is not personally involved with its development, she stands to profit from its success. For more, read our in-depth article on how Rowling's comments have impacted the trans community. In this article you will also find links to trans creators you can support, as well as charities you can donate to. Do note that this can also be influenced by completing a Wizarding World quiz and linking your WB Games account, though you can still make the necessary changes based on your preference.

Joining Slytherin won't affect the story in any notable way (if you truly want to dabble in the Dark Arts, being sorted to this house isn't a prerequisite). However, you may have more chances to talk and get to know your fellow 5th year Slytherin students, including Ominis Gaunt, Imelda Reyes, and Sebastian Sallow. Sebastian in particular has an important storyline that you'll be able to undertake alongside him in companion quests.

Essentially, that common room is just an optional extra area to explore. Each common room does have a few little secrets, though most of those amount to small visual touches. You’ll also see slightly different scenes when you first enter a common room and if you try to enter the wrong common room. Other notable characters who were part of Slytherin include the Bloody Baron, Merlin, Tom Riddle, and Severus Snape (most of which attended Hogwarts long after the events of the game). Hogwarts Legacy is developed by Avalanche Software, a subsidiary of Warner Bros.

Fans scoured the game looking for something more substantial, but those unique quests are the only notable piece of house-specific content you have to look forward to. While some enjoy the idea that they’re not missing out on anything substantial due to their choice of house, a few more unique additions would have been appreciated. For what it’s worth, though, your choice of House will play a minor role in your various character interactions.

During the Sorting Hat ceremony, should your character select the Ambition quality when speaking with the Hat, the recommended house will be Slytherin. The starting location for the side quest, “Ghost of our Love,” will also change depending on your Hogwarts house. Find the map around the final location of your respective quest to start the side quest. If you’re not happy with the house you’ve been sorted into, you can choose whichever house you’d like to join. By understanding how Hogwarts Legacy’s sorting quiz works, you can end up in the best house for you.

Once you enter Ravenclaw, you will instantly start to see its wonders, for behind the first golden eagle is an even bigger and more impressive one that will make any other house jealous. The Slytherin Side Quest will have you seeking clues around the map to meet some key characters on the quest known as Scrope’s Last Hope. Hufflepuff is known for having hard-working students who enjoy being in, and working with, plants, as the common rooms are filled with gorgeous plants.

You also gain access to a house-specific Floo Flame location which can be handy while completing quests around Hogwarts. Other than that, the main difference is the colour of the clothes you wear and the Hogwarts Legacy common rooms you have access to. What if absolutely none of that matters to you, though, and you just want to pick the House that offers the best overall experience?
